Automatic Water Leak Detection & Shut-Off Systems
Water damage is the most common — and one of the most expensive — homeowner insurance claims in America, with average claims topping $10,000. Dominick Plumbing professionally installs automatic leak detection and shut-off systems that monitor your home 24/7 and close the main valve within seconds of a leak. Built for Arizona homes, certified on the locally-made LeakSecure® system, and backed by 7+ years of Scottsdale plumbing experience.

Our Process
Simple, honest, transparent
-
1
Assessment & Installation
We evaluate your pipe material, water heater location, appliance connections and main shutoff access, then install the flow sensor, shutoff valve and point sensors — typically about an hour on the main line.
-
2
Monitor & Learn
Your system establishes a baseline of normal water use — showers, dishwasher, irrigation, pool fill — and continuously monitors flow, pressure, temperature and (with LeakSecure) water quality through your main line.
-
3
Detect, Shut Off & Alert
On a real anomaly the valve closes automatically and your phone gets an instant alert telling you exactly what triggered the shutoff. From the app you can restore water, call us, or schedule service.
FAQs
Common questions
How quickly does the system detect and respond to leaks?
Flow-based systems like LeakSecure® can detect anomalies within seconds. Once the sensor sees water flow that doesn't match your home's normal pattern, the shutoff valve closes automatically — fast enough to prevent significant flooding from even a catastrophic pipe burst. For slow leaks, AI algorithms identify persistent low-flow anomalies a meter alone would never flag.
Will this work during Scottsdale's monsoon power outages?
Systems that need AC power may lose sensor reporting and remote connectivity during an outage, but battery backup options (48–72 hours on units like Eddy IQ) keep metering alive. We discuss backup power during your consultation, and you can always close the main shutoff manually if electronics go offline.
Can I still use water in other parts of the house if there's a leak?
LeakSecure and similar flow-based systems sit on your main water supply, so a detected leak triggers a whole-house shutoff by design. If you need zone-based control — for example, shutting off interior plumbing while keeping irrigation running — we can add zone valves on specific lines.
Will it affect my water pressure or daily water use?
No. Quality systems use full-bore stainless steel valves that don't restrict flow. LeakSecure's valve supports up to ~125 PSI, well above typical residential pressure. The system is transparent during normal use and only activates when a real anomaly is detected. Customizable thresholds prevent long showers, baths or irrigation cycles from triggering false shutdowns.
What's included in the installation and ongoing support?
Initial home assessment, professional installation, Wi-Fi and smartphone app setup, threshold calibration, and hands-on training so you understand alerts and controls. After installation we offer ongoing maintenance — sensor calibration, firmware updates, and threshold adjustments as your household changes. LeakSecure's Pro Dashboard connects us directly to your system data for faster diagnostics.
How much water does an undetected leak actually waste?
More than most homeowners realize. The EPA estimates leaks waste a trillion gallons of water annually across the U.S. A single dripping faucet wastes 3,000+ gallons a year, and hidden leaks inside walls or under slabs run silently for months. An automatic leak detection system catches the invisible ones and pays for itself in water savings alone.
Will my homeowners insurance give me a discount?
Many carriers do. Documented automatic shut-off installations often qualify for premium reductions in the 5–15% range. We provide installation records and product documentation you can submit to your insurer.
Why do you recommend the LeakSecure® system?
It's engineered and manufactured in Scottsdale by Notation Labs, uses a patented quad-path ultrasonic flow sensor, and monitors five parameters — flow, pressure, temperature, humidity, and water quality (TDS). Customizable thresholds dramatically reduce false alarms from irrigation, pool filling and other high-volume use that trip cheaper systems.
